Better Breakfast Month

According to American Food Holidays website, September is Better Breakfast Month. I think someone make this month for me. Anyone who has read my articles enough will know that I have a strong dislike for breakfast. Waking up and eating in the morning does not lure me out of bed. Perhaps a hot cup of coffee followed by a bagel with cream cheese or a cream filled donut would get me out of bed. So much was wrong with that statement. Sugar is not the best way to start the day. I grew up on Pop Tarts for breakfast. Before … Continue reading

Help, I Hate Breakfast!

Breakfast does not have to include eggs, bacon, cereal, oatmeal or any of the traditional breakfast fair. Breakfast has always been an especially challenging time for me because I dislike most breakfast foods. If I never ate a scrambled egg again I would not miss it. In fact, I would rather just skip breakfast all together and be happy with my cup of coffee. I have tried to convince myself that with enough creamer my cup of coffee is actually an energizing breakfast smoothie. Somehow I never quite convinced myself of that theory. Do You Love Your Spouse More Than They Love You?

Do you love your spouse more than they love you? I’ve long suspected I love Wayne more than he loves me, but I’d never quite realized that could truly be a possibility until I watched an episode of Malcolm in the Middle. “Say what? It might have been the one where Hal had a female boss who was coming on to him. Devoted to his wife Lois, he confided to her what … Continue reading

Baking Up a Healthy Breakfast

I’m not a breakfast person. I’d prefer to sleep through breakfast and have an early lunch. That’s just me, but my daughter rises early and wants her breakfast right away. Whether I like it or not, either my husband or I have to get some kind of food ready for her to eat in the early morning. To be honest, her breakfasts have become rather unhealthy. Some of the easy breakfasts that we make her are (try not to gasp when you read beyond this) toaster strudels, pop tarts, cereal and frozen waffles. I know most of those sound really … Continue reading

Three More Easy Lunches

Yesterday I wrote about Three Easy Lunches to make for any day. Those three lunches were Tuna On Crackers + Tomato Slices, Macaroni & Cheese + Grapes, and Grilled Cheese Sandwich + Tomato Soup. Today I want to add three more easy lunches; those three lunches are Beans ‘n Rice, Baked Potato with Salsa, and Scrambled Egg Sandwich. Lunch #1: Beans ‘n Rice Do you like eating beans? I really do, and beans are a good alternative to meat in some dishes, and so much less expensive than meat, too. For Beans ‘n Rice, you could go for any of … Continue reading
