This recipe takes a while to prepare, but it is so good to eat. It turns regular ground beef into a wonderful, great tasting meal. The hamburger, cabbage and spaghetti sauce work together to make one great taste. There are so many choices to add to this dish to make a complete meal. Be creative and have fun. You can even let your kids help roll the mixture up in the cabbage.

What you need:

1 head of cabbage

1 pound of hamburger

1 medium onion, diced and browned

1 egg, beaten

1/2-1 Cup of cooked rice

1 quart of spaghetti sauce

salt and pepper to taste

What you need to do:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cut out the core of the cabbage. Place it in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and continue a boil until the cabbage leaves are soft. As it is boiling, remove the outer leaves so that it doesn't take as long and the leaves won't get mushy. Drain cabbage.

While cabbage is boiling, combine hamburger, onion, egg, rice and one Tablespoon of spaghetti sauce. Mix well. If your mixture is watery, add more rice.

In a roasting pan, lay enough cabbage leaves to cover the bottom of the pan and add 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce. Next, lay a leaf of cabbage on a plate with stem side toward you. Add your hamburger mixture, the size of a small meatball, and place it on the stem. Add salt and pepper and start to roll it up. Once you have made a complete roll, tuck in the sides of the cabbage leaf and place it in the pan. Continue this process until all mixture is gone. Pour remaining spaghetti sauce over all cabbage rolls and cover. Bake for one hour. Enjoy!
