Can't Get Enough of Gordon Ramsay?

If you're not familiar with Gordon Ramsay--or his infamous temper and propensity towards bad language--just watch Hell's Kitchen. It's a reality TV. show where wannabe chefs compete by completing dinner service at a super busy restaurant. Every week the risotto is made improperly, the chicken is too dry and the beef Wellington is done wrong. I can't for the life of me see how anyone wins on the show because every week Ramsay screams and yells his way through the dinner service. Suffice it to say, as big of a fan as I am of cooking shows--this one is on my turn-off-the-television-and-run-into-the-other-room list. (And it's a short list.)

It seems that American viewers will be subjected to more Gordon Ramsay in his new reality TV series, "Kitchen Nightmares." Or perhaps not. Apparently Ramsay's antics have gotten him and his show into a bit of legal trouble. In Kitchen Nightmares, the not so loveable Ramsay goes to visit sub par restaurants and tells them what they're doing wrong and supposedly helps to fix it. (I guess my question here would be, is the nightmare referring to Ramsay and his acidic manner or is it the kitchen?)

In any case, the accusations claim that Ramsay is doctoring the show somewhat to make for more dramatically awful kitchens. Presumably so he can make a more dramatic 'knight in shining armor' entrance. . .although I'm sure that knight in shining armor is likely to let more than a few curse words slip. How chivalric.

According to court documents, Ramsay is being accused of faking scenes for his new series. He allegedly used a faulty prop chair to imply that the restaurant he was saving had cheap furniture, claimed that meat was spoiled when in fact it wasn't, and he hired actors to act as customers so that it appeared that the restaurant was busy at the end of the week. That newfound business of course, being all due to Ramsay's expert guidance.

The restaurateur did admit that conditions were markedly better after Ramsay's visit. Nonetheless he is suing so that the show will not be aired and also asking for millions of dollars in damages. I guess if he wins he won't need to worry about his sub par restaurant.

The Ramsay camp has no comment on the law suit. As for me, I will not be watching anything Gordon Ramsay is in--just too obnoxious for my taste!
