Last night after frolicking at the beach for a little while, we drove over to The Old Spaghetti Factory in Newport Beach, California. It had been a while since I'd eaten there. I was shocked when the bill came. $29.74. I double-checked it.

I love a country restaurant that serves a home cooked meal. Now, being from the South, I may have a very specific idea of what a home cooked meal is. Some people love Cracker Barrel because they think it is country, home cooking. Uh, no, at least not in my book.

Even though Memphis is in the heart of the South, it has many great ethnic restaurants. Maybe it is because there is such a blend of people that call Memphis home. There are many great Japanese restaurants in Memphis, but my personal favorite is the Nagasaki Inn at 3951 Summer Avenue.

Fresh Choice is an all-you-can-eat salad and soup chain restaurant that also has pasta, potatoes, rice, bakery items and desserts. It is comparable to a lot of the other chains in different parts of the country, like Tomatoes or Zoopas.
