Did your grandmother used to make this old fashioned summer treat? I must confess, I had never heard of it before until I stumbled upon a recipe in my Amish cookbook. I tried it and failed miserably.

I confess that I am known as the dessert lady. Whenever our church has a potluck--I am asked to bring dessert. That's fine by me too--there are lots of advantages to bringing dessert. First of all, you can lick the bowl.

It's too bad that I didn't find this recipe while I was doing my "Abandon the Pumpkin Pie" series. Thankfully, you don't have to wait until Thanksgiving to try this out.
