Crescent rolls are a favorite of mine and I am always on the lookout for a recipe in which I can use them. I found this one online the other day at a baby site. I have not made it yet, but I am thawing out the chicken so I can make it for dinner tomorrow.

For this recipe, you will need cooked chicken that is cubed, four ounces of cream cheese, margarine, milk, onions (or you can substitute onion flakes), two cans of crescent rolls, and dry stuffing or crushed croutons.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine four ounces of cream cheese and two tablespoons of melted margarine until it is smooth. Add two cups of cubed cooked chicken, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/8 teaspoon of pepper, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1 tablespoon of diced onion or onion flakes and stir well. Take two triangles of crescent rolls and press the seams together to form a rectangle. Place two to three tablespoons of the chicken mixture on one side of the rectangle. Fold the other side over and press the edges to seal it. Continue with the rest of the crescent rolls until all are filled. Crush 1 cup of dry stuffing or croutons in a medium size bowl. Melt four tablespoons of margarine and dip each rectangle into the melted margarine. Place the rectangle in the bowl with crushed dry stuffing or croutons and roll on both sides until each side is coated. Place each rectangle on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. This would be great served with a green vegetable like broccoli or a side salad.

Pillsbury Crescent Roll Trivia: The first appearance of the cuddly 8 3/4 inch Pillsbury Doughboy (created by the Leo Burnett ad agency) was in a commercial advertising crescent rolls in October of 1965.
