Lemonade Recipes
It's already mid-summer hot in some parts of the country, and nothing tastes as good on a hot day as fresh lemonade. The basic lemonade recipe is 1 cup fresh lemon juice, 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup of water, but there are many other ways to make lemonade. Here is my collection of recipes, all of them delicious, whether you have fresh lemons or not. I don't think you can beat lemonade made with a simple syrup as in the first recipe, but if time is a factor, you might want to try one of the others.
Best Lemonade
1 3/4 cups sugar
8 cups water
1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
Combine the sugar and 1 cup of the water. Bring to a boil while stirring so sugar dissolves. Cool the syrup and then store in the refrigerator. To make the lemonade, combine the syrup, lemon juice and 7 cups of water in a pitcher and stir well. Add a little more sugar if it is too tart.
Quick Lemonade
Juice from 10 medium lemons
2 cups sugar
1 quart water
Combine all the ingredients in a pitcher and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add more sugar if needed. Serve over crushed ice.
Easy Strawberry Lemonade
1 (6 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup water
2 cups ice cubes Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until pureed.
Raspberry Lemonade Punch
1 (12 oz) can frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate
3 cups water
12 ounces lemon-lime soda
1 1/2 cups crushed ice
Fresh raspberries for garnish
Combine the water and concentrate in a punch bowl and mix together well. Add the lemon-lime soda and crushed ice just before serving. Float the raspberries on the top for garnish.

Laura, these look soooo yummy! It's a warm day today here in sunny California so I'm going to try these! I live across the street from a strawberry farm so that one's first on my list! Thanks so much!
I've used something similar to your "Best Lemonade" recipe all my life. there is nothing like homemade lemonade! years ago, I started making it with Splenda and it is still just as good.
I'd like to try it with Splenda, too. I've never used an artificial sweetener. How much do you use? Does it give the sugar/Splenda ratio on the box?
If I'm correct, you'd use the same amount of Splenda as you would sugar. With other sweeteners you'd use less, but I think Splenda is the same, cup for cup. I'll give it a try too! I generally don't like the aftertaste of Splenda but I'll take it if it means yummy lemonade without sugar!
