If you are hosting a house full of people on Thanksgiving the last thing you want to deal with is a gaggle of whiny children complaining about having to eat dishes they don't like.

The solution: Prepare a couple of kid-friendly recipes that you know your little ones will give thanks for having.

The first recipe is a classic kid-friendly dish--Macaroni and Cheese. The other recipe features marshmallows, Cool Whip and fresh cranberries in a sweet, fluffy dish that is proven crowd pleaser. I guarantee your young guests won't be the only ones gobbling it up on Turkey Day.

CLASSIC MACARONI AND CHEESE

Ingredients:

1 cup of milk

2 cups of water

2 chicken bouillon (cubes)

1/2 pound of sharp cheddar cheese

1 egg

1 tablespoon of sugar

One box of macaroni

1 stick of butter

1/2 cup of flour

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Add water to a large pot and bring to a boil. Add 2 tablespoons of salt, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, and pasta. Boil until al dente. Drain and remove.

In another large pot combine milk, water and chicken bouillon and bring to a slight boil.

In a separate bowl, mix butter and flour, then add it to the boiling milk mixture.

Add cheese, mix well, then add pasta.

Mix more, then add egg, and mix again for about 1 to 2 minutes.

Place mixture into a baking dish and place in oven for about 15 minutes.

Serves 4.

CRANBERRY FLUFF

Ingredients:

1 can of cranberry sauce

2 cups fresh cranberries

8-ounce package miniature marshmallows

8-ounce package fat free cream cheese

2 sliced bananas

1 8-ounce tub Cool Whip topping

Directions:

In a large bowl mix together cream cheese and cool whip.

Stir in fresh cranberries, cranberry sauce and marshmallows.

Garnish with sliced banana before serving.

Makes 8-10 servings.
