Did you take the quiz the other day? If you didn't, you have to go back and read the quiz first because it's not fair to read the answers first. But, if you took the quiz and are checking back to see how you did, here are the answers:

#1. Chinese people made the earliest pasta.

#2. Noodle comes from the word 'nudel' which is a German word.

#3. You should use 4-6 quarts to boil one pound of dry noodles.

#4. Noodles have eggs in them which make the different from other pastas.

#5. Kugel is a dessert made from noodles.

What to Top Your Noodles With

In celebration of National Pasta Month (we wouldn't want to not celebrate it, right?) here is my favorite way to eat pasta--with Alfredo sauce.

Alfredo Sauce:

Not exactly high on the health food fare list but it is super tasty. One thing I like about alfredo sauce is that you can be so creative with it yet it is super easy to make. I came upon this recipe by trial and error although I realized as I was researching for this blog that my recipe mimics a dozen other alfredo recipes out there.

In a heavy saucepan melt 1/2 cup (one stick) of butter. You can melt it over low heat which takes forever but you don't want to brown or reduce the butter at all. Once it is all melted add 1 cup of heavy cream and heat through. Once it is finished, remove it from the heat and add 1 1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese.

I highly recommend adding sautéed vegetables or even some roasted garlic to your noodles. And of course Alfredo with noodles goes great with both shrimp (or other seafood) and chicken.
