Our Visit to Celestial Seasoningsby Erika Lutz | More from this Blogger 19 Jan 2007 12:00 PM Since I live in Colorado, my family recently went to visit Celestial Seasonings in Boulder, CO - only an hour's drive away from where we live in Denver. We went to take the free tour of the factory and visit the gift shop, but since we had our 2-year-old daughter with us, we weren't able to tour the factory with her (children under 5 aren't allowed in the factory). Although we were disappointed about the tour, all of us still got a great overview of the Celestial Seasonings company. We sat through the short video presentation about the start of the company and the different teas and other products it produces. And then our daughter was even able to hug the huge plush Sleepy Time bear that was in the video room. After the video, we sampled the teas that were available from dispensers for free sampling. This was fun, because all of us were able to try teas that we normally wouldn't have bought or tried on our own. The girls behind the counter offered to make us any tea we wanted, which was ever so nice of them. There was a tall table in the room that had napkins, honey, and more for our teas. And, in the same room were several tables with chairs as well as a small art gallery which held many of Celestial Seasonings' artwork used on tea boxes. All of the pieces were so beautiful, and made me want to drink tea at all times. During our trip to Celestial Seasonings we browsed the gift shop. The Celestial Seasonings gift shop had nearly every single flavor of tea that the company makes for sale inside, as well as other Celestial Seasonings pens, magnets, stuffed bears, even prints of some of the teas' box pictures. I just had to buy a poster for my daughter's room. We got the original Sleepy Time poster, with the Sleepy Time bear (dad) sitting in his green chair with a cup of tea on the side table, while his wife and two children get ready for bed in the background. It is framed and hangs in her room now, and after sampling some of Celestial Teas, I've fallen in love with all of them. Right now I am on a Celestial Seasonings Tea-buying kick. I know that I probably won't always buy just this brand of tea, but right now I just can't resist it. Before the trip to Celestial Seasonings, I think we had one box of their tea in our cupboard, but now we have 4 or 5 different Celestial Seasonings tea boxes in our home. My husband, a non-tea drinker, even bought a box or two of tea when we were there. He chose a fruit sampler. I chose one of the new iced teas in the peach flavor. Right now I am stuck on green teas, for the health benefits. Celestial Seasonings is an excellent tea company, and I am drinking up their tea!
